International Education Week

November 3-10, 2011 

International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This annual initiative promotes international understanding and builds support for international education and exchange. IEW encourages programs that prepare citizens to live and work in a global environment. This joint initiative of the U.S Departments of State and Education is celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Here at Babson, International Education Week is recognized as an important part of our identity. It is an opportunity to share our individual and collective culture. This year we mark our 7th year of participation in the celebration of International Education Week.

What: As part of International Education Week, I Am Me Again: Stories of Culture Shock and Adjustment will be screened. The film features a diverse group of Babson students discussing their challenges with culture shock, adjustment to a new culture, and cross-cultural communication. A great film for both international and U.S. American students!

Discussion will be facilitated by Professor Sydel Sokuvitz and Amir Reza, Director of International and Multicultural Education.

Who: Co-sponsored by Graduate Programs and Student Affairs (GPSA) and the Graduate Student Council (GSC).

When/Where: Thursday, November 3, 2011, 12:30-1:45pm in Olin 225. Refreshments will be served.

Interested in studying abroad for a semester or academic year, but not really sure where to go or how to choose a program?  Attend the Regional Information Sessions on Friday, November 4th!  An Education Abroad Advisor will discuss all of the approved programs ina  region, focusing on the similaries and differences in each program, to help you to determine the progrma of best fit for you!  We are offering concurrent sessions throughout the day.  Stop by for just one session or all!  No RSVP required!  Hope to see you on Friday!
