Graduation Requirements

All graduating students must complete an Application for Degree and update or verify their mailing address. The App for Degree is located under the "Academic" section of the Hub Links page on the Babson Hub. To update or verify a mailing address, click the "My Profile" link under the "Babson Directory" section of the Hub Links page on the Babson Hub.  Select Mailing Address under the Edit My Info section on the left side of the page. Any students who have outstanding obligations with the College, such as financial obligations, will not receive their diploma until these obligations are cleared.

May Graduates

May graduates must complete all degree requirements by 4:30 p.m. on the Tuesday before the May Commencement ceremony.

May graduates must complete the Commencement Clearance Process (CCP). The CCP is an application site that allows degree candidates to view and complete the requirements necessary to pick up their cap and gown. Requirements include fulfilling financial obligations, completing college surveys, and returning laptops. This site will be made available to degree candidates approximately two weeks before Commencement. More information about the CCP will be sent via email from the Events Management Office in the weeks leading up to Commencement.

The official graduation date for May graduates is the date of the May Commencement ceremony.

August Graduates

August graduates must complete all degree requirements by August 31st. Diplomas are mailed at the end of September to the student’s current mailing address on file.

Probable August graduates may participate in the preceding May Commencement ceremony as walkers. Students must register and plan to complete their remaining degree requirements during the summer sessions. Only coursework that can be completed and graded prior to August 31 can be considered. At the Commencement ceremony, walkers wear the full academic regalia, are seated together with the previous year’s August and December graduates and the current year’s May graduates, have their names announced, and receive an empty diploma case on stage. Probable August graduates who choose to participate in the May Commencement ceremony must complete and return a Commencement Walker Form by the deadline listed on the form. Walkers also must complete the Commencement Clearance Process (CCP) and the Application for Degree. The CCP is an application site that allows walkers to view and complete the requirements necessary to pick up their cap and gown. This site will open approximately two weeks before Commencement. Walkers do not have access to the CCP until the Registrar’s Office has received a completed walker form.

August graduates also are invited to participate in the subsequent May Commencement ceremony.

The official graduation date for August graduates is August 31st.

December Graduates

December graduates must complete all degree requirements by December 30th. Diplomas are mailed at the end of January to the student’s current mailing address on file.

December graduates are invited to participate in the subsequent May Commencement ceremony and must complete the Commencement Clearance Process (CCP) at that time. The CCP is an application site that allows students to view and complete the requirements necessary to pick up their cap and gown. This site will open approximately two weeks before Commencement. More information about the CCP will be sent via email from the Office of Special Events in the weeks leading up to Commencement.

The official graduation date for December graduates is December 30th.
