Babson Blues Project

The project consists of a group of dedicated musicians that focus on rock/blues. Rehearsals will be a couple of times a month, and may lead to the scheduling of additional performances. This project is open to the entire Babson/Wellesley/Olin community.

Babson College Radio

This student-run radio has the capability to run 24/7 online. Shows range from talk shows to playlists. If you are interested in hosting your own show, contact Eduardo Padial for more information.

Babson-Olin Jazz Ensemble

Under the professional direction of jazz bandleader Joe Brogan. Minimum of one weekly two-hour rehearsal and two performances each semester. Open to everyone in the Babson/Olin/Wellesley community. All instruments are welcome.

The Rocket Pitches is the audition-based a capella group at Babson College, consisting of males and females. They arrange their own music and perform current/popular pop songs at various events. The Rocket Pitches brings together singers at Babson College who enjoy performing and sharing their vocal abilities. They meet two times a week: Monday 6:30-8 PM and Thursday 5:30-6:30 PM in the Sorenson Theater.

Olin CheeriOs

The Olin CheeriOs is a new version of the a capella group. It is currently composed of all Olin students and one Babson student. They are always happy to welcome any more Babson students that would like to join!

Olin Conductorless Orchestra

Olin Professor Diana Dabby leads the Olin Condustorless Orchestra with experience as a concert pianist and soloist of New York's Weill (Cernegie) Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Hungary and Hong Kong, as well as chamber musician and compower for Boston's Jordan Hall, Symphony Hall and Tanglewood. The Olin Conductorless Orchestra is an ensemble, minus conductor, featuring instrumentalists in leadership and collaborative roles.

e Olin PowerChords is the competitive a capella group at the Olin College of Engineering. They currently make up over 5% of the student body at Olin. Since their start in 2007, their talent has increased each year and are always looking forward to welcoming new members. Olin Rock Orchestra

The Olin Rick Orchestra is composed of many Olin College of Engineering students that enjoy playing rock music for fun. However, they welcome any Babson students that wish to join and play along with them.

Joseph M. Brogan, Babson-Olin Jazz Ensemble Director
Tenor, Soprano & Alto Saxes, Flute, Clarinet, Vocals. Joe holds a Bachelor of Music, Berklee College of Music, Masters in Education, Boston State, and a Masters in Educational Administration, Boston State. He just retired from the position of Director of Fine Arts, Dedham Public Schools, and has taught in the Southbridge, Ipswich, and Dedham Public Schools. Joe is the current Director of the Babson & Olin College Jazz Ensembles. He has numerous solo and recording experiences in classical, jazz, and R&B music. In the past Joe has been the director of the College All Star Jazz Ensemble and the Director of the MDC (DCR) All Star Band. Joe has directed and produced over 25 musicals. He is a member of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, New England Scholastic Band Association, and Mass Judges Association.

Sibelius

If you would like to install Sibelius 6 click here for instructions: Installing Sibelius. It is used by composers, arrangers, performers, music publishers, teachers and students, particularly for writing classical, jazz, band, vocal, film and television music. In addition to editing and printing scores, Sibelius can also play music back using high-quality sounds, scan and import printed scores for editing, and publish scores for others to access via the Internet and iPads.
