These are examples of the classes offered. More to come once the Fall 2012 semester resumes.

Figure Drawing Class
Two separate sessions on 1/31/12 and 2/9/12, 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM, Trim 215
$5 per person/ per session
Learn how to draw the figure by working from a live model.  Workshop participants will begin the session by drawing a series of quick gesture studies.  The rest of the session will be spent making one long drawing in order to develop ta basic understanding of how to see and describe the figure in two dimensional space.  This workshop is oopen to Babson, Olin, Wellesley students, staff, and faculty of ALL Levels of experience.  No prior drawing experience is required.  All materials will be provided but participants need to pay a non-refundable fee of $5 for each session in order to pay the model and to reserve a place in the workshop.  We will need a minimum of 12 paid RSVP's for the workshop to run.

Intro to Wheel
Tuesdays, 6:30 PM- 8:30 PM, Trim 221, taught by Josephine "Jody" Burr. Registration Deadline is 2/7/2012

Note that Ms. Burr will accommodate students’ other interests in other approaches. Space permitting, independent student users are welcome to visit during this class time for advice on technique.

Drawing as Meditation
Glavin Chapel, February 16th (5-7PM) 
By slowing down and paying close, directed attention to process rather than product, drawing can be used as a tool to achieve the concentrated focus of meditation.  Artist in Residence Danielle Krcmar will lead you in a basic series of drawings made in response to things you see, touch, and hear as a way of increasing your awareness of present moment.  This workshop is free to all members of the Babson community.  All art supplies will be provided and no previous art experience is required.

Independent Studio Use
Independent Studio Use requires prior experience with ceramics and authorization from the Studio Manager, Stephanie Osser. Once you have Ms. Osser’s approval please register for the class. The cost is $200.00 Faculty and Staff and $80.00 for Babson, Olin, and Wellesley students. Independent Studio Use runs from 2/6-4/15. Students Please Use Discount Code: INDART Students in Independent Studio Use cannot access the studio when other workshops are in session. Contact us at sorenson@babson.edu with questions.

If Enrolled in Any Other Program: Optional Term Extension
Optional Term Extension is an opportunity for students currently enrolled in ceramics workshops at Babson to extend the length of the term. Students will not be "in class" but rather will have an opportunity to continue to use the equipment in order to finish their works. Studio monitors will be present in the studio however no instruction will take place. 

In order to register for the extension you must first email sorenson@babson.edu your registration form from a Spring 2012 workshop.

​General Information

All classes are non-credit. Ceramics Studio access requires a Babson OneCard. Once registration and payment have been received, OneCards will be granted permission to enter the Ceramics Studio.

CLASS FEE REFUND POLICY: Partial refund after the first class only.

REGISTRATION: Online with MC/Visa only.

OVERVIEW OF FEES:

1. Formal classes: $80 for enrolled students (Babson, Olin, Wellesley), $160 for staff and faculty (8 classes) includes use of studio outside class time.

2. Non-class studio use for experienced potters: $80 for enrolled students (Babson, Olin, Wellesley), $200 for staff and faculty between 9/20-11/30.
