Getting Started

Welcome to Education Abroad at Babson College!

Your decision to pursue semester abroad as part of your graduate education is exciting, but also requires deliberate planning. Your semester abroad will be spent at one of our partner institutions and will help diversify your business knowledge base, immerse you in a new culture, and allow you to build an international network. The following advising process is designed to guide you to opening an application to study abroad.

Only you can decide if a semester abroad is right for you. Consider the following questions as you set your goals for study abroad:

  • Why do I want to go abroad? What do I want to get out of a semester abroad?
  • What kind of classes do I want to take while abroad?
  • How will my studies abroad complement my Babson courses?
  • Do I speak another language and do I want to use that language abroad?
  • Do I want to practice a new language?
  • What transferable skills can I develop abroad?
  • Will a particular program/country enhance my professional network?

Now that you have thought about your goals, it’s time to look at what we have to offer. Each program is offered by one of our esteemed international partners and all programs are taught in English. The programs are unique in their course offerings, location, and student demographic. Take your research beyond our website to learn more about each institution.

Before starting an education abroad application, we recommend that you meet with your Graduate program manager. In this meeting, you will discuss your academic goals, past performance, and whether study abroad is a good fit. Your program manager also will discuss the course evaluation and grading process for courses taken abroad.

Once you have discussed your education abroad plans with your program manager, it is time to meet with an education abroad advisor to learn more about the application and selection process for your program(s) of interest. To schedule an appointment, please call the Glavin Office at 781-239-4565 during office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.).

Now that you have spent time planning and meeting, it is time to apply. Simply click “Apply Now” on any graduate program page to start your application. Learn more about the application process »
