Education Abroad Peer Advisors (EAPAs) are Babson students who have studied abroad for an academic year, semester, or summer. They are here to offer peer advice and answer any questions you have while searching for a program, while you’re preparing to go, while you’re abroad, and even after you’ve returned to campus.

While I was abroad, I wish I had … spoken with more locals! I wish I had not been so shy to share and learn from the natives of each country.

You should go abroad because … traveling and spending time abroad automatically forces you out of your comfort zone. When you are experiencing a new environment you are constantly challenged to try new things and think on your toes. I have had the most personal development while I was abroad because of these reasons.

While I was abroad, I wish I had … spoken better German. I did get to learn a bit of German while abroad, but I didn’t know any going in. Everyone in Berlin spoke English so that wasn’t a big issue, but it would’ve been very cool to be able to speak to some of the people in their native language.

You should go abroad because … it opens you up to new experiences and forces you to venture outside of your comfort zone. I now have a totally different perspective of the world after going abroad, and now I want to keep traveling throughout my life.

You should go abroad because … this is truly a life-changing experience—you learn, grow, and really develop yourself as an individual and become more aware of the different cultures around you.

You should go abroad because … it teaches you responsibility, organization, independence, and how to deal with ambiguity through a global lens. Through immersing yourself in the culture, study abroad allows you to open your mind and learn about the world and what it has to offer, which is something you wouldn’t necessarily be able to do while at Babson.

While I was abroad, I wish I had … recorded and saved more visual stories of the experiences I shared with my peers.

You should go abroad because … the world you know and understand is so limited when you persist within your own familiar boundaries. Let your curiosity take you to places that challenge yourself in ways you’ve never experienced. Every experience is different. Let your story inspire you to take challenges beyond that of studying abroad in a different country.
