COUNSELING and psychological SERVICES

CAPS provides psychological support to students as they pursue their academic and personal goals at Babson College. Services provided include consultation, assessment, short-term counseling, and referrals for longer-term counseling. Interactions with CAPS are confidential and will not be shared with anyone without a student’s written authorization. Common reasons students seek counseling support are:
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Family/Peer/Relationship Concerns
  • Homesickness/Adjustment Concerns
  • Body Image/Food Concerns

Confidentiality

Interactions with CAPS clinicians are confidential and no information will be shared with anyone, including whether or not a student has met with a clinician in CAPS, without a student’s written authorization (there are some exceptions to this, please contact CAPS if you would like for more information about this). Records of counseling are never part of a student’s academic record, and are not shared with anyone without a student’s written permission.

Emergencies

CAPS staff are available on campus during business hours (between 8:30am-4:30pm) to assist with urgent situations. After-hours (between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.) services are available when crises arise, and may be accessed by calling Babson Public Safety at 781-239-5555.
