We pride ourselves on our distinctive living-learning communities (LLCs), which offer students an opportunity to build stronger relationships with peers, staff, and faculty for a more enriching and engaged Babson experience.
First year students have the opportunity to apply to live in Living Social Entrepreneurship, Living Entrepreneurship, Glavin Diversity Fellows or Glavin Global Fellows.
The LGBTQ+ Neighborhood
The LGBTQ+ Neighborhood developed in spring of 2016 after thoughtful conversations among students, faculty, and staff seeking opportunities to provide identity based housing to students. Residence Education affirmed the need to provide residential spaces that foster and create fundamental support and sense of community to individuals with social identities that are historically marginalized. The LGBTQ+ Neighborhood will open in fall 2017 to all undergraduate students, allowing for community development across class years. Resident room assignments can be gender-inclusive, so they do not need to be gender specific. Residence Education professional and student staff will support residents of the Neighborhood in building relationships, learning through interactive and passive programming to create and maintain a safe and healthy living environment. All students living in the Neighborhood will participate in a retreat at the start of the fall semester focused on gender and sexuality.
Sophomore Leadership LLC
This unique residential living experience offers sophomore students access to programs and leadership opportunities that help them discover their purpose and the type of leader they want to become.
Special-interest housing communities were developed by Residence Education and students to enhance the living-learning atmosphere in our residence halls for upper-class students. These student-proposed communities are popular housing options that allow you the opportunity to share in experiences with students who enjoy similar interests and lifestyles. Each community has a faculty adviser who assists the communities in their development.
