Summer Housing

Information for students planning to live on campus during the summer.

Summer Session 2014 Housing Rate

Undergraduate Students: $1,691 per session ($3,382 for both sessions)

Application and Locations

Summer housing applications will be available from April 16 to May 1, 2014. An email outlining the application process, frequently asked questions, and the timeline for requests will be sent to all undergraduate students prior to the end of April. All assignments will be made the first week of May. Questions and concerns regarding housing should be directed to Residence Life at 781-239-4438.

Undergraduate students taking classes may be housed in Putney. Students working 35 hours per week will be housed in Putney. Please note that students who are working 35 hours per week on campus may receive compensated housing. However, remember that you will be taxed on the value of your summer housing. If you are interning off campus and would like to reside on campus this summer, you most likely will be housed in Putney. Rooms are assigned on a first-come first-served basis, and summer assignments will be emailed to students. There are a limited number of rooms available for summer session. Residence Life will work to accommodate your needs, but housing is not guaranteed.

Room Amenities

All rooms are air-conditioned and furnished with beds, dressers, closets, desks, and desk chairs. Students provide all other furnishings, such as desk lamps, curtains, linens, blankets, and pillows. Please refer to the Undergraduate Housing Agreement and Undergraduate Handbook for housing policies, procedures, and community expectations. Students are responsible for picking up and returning keys, signing room condition forms, and responding to any damage or vandalism that occurs to residence hall rooms and/or common areas. Each hall includes a community kitchen and a community lounge. There will be summer Resident Assistants living in the each of the residence halls to provide programming opportunities and community building for the residents.

Important Reminders

Any student living on campus will need to move into a summer assignment and will be unable to remain in their spring room. This is due to the rest of campus being occupied by outside camps and conferences. Babson looks forward to sharing our community with these guests. We thank all students for their understanding.

Students will not be able to move into their summer housing assignments until on or after May 19. Students who currently live on campus will be able to remain in their spring room assignment until their summer room assignment is ready. Students will receive their summer housing assignments when rooms are ready along with instructions on how to obtain room keys, check out of spring rooms, etc. Students who are living off campus in the spring and plan to move on campus for the summer should note this in the housing application, or contact Residence Life directly for special arrangements.

GAP students, who are here for the summer, are required to have a meal plan. Anyone else is welcome to purchase a meal plan for either one or both sessions. More information on the costs and details will be available soon.
