Boys Basketball
The goal of the Boys Basketball Camp is to improve the level of play of each camper and provide him with a rewarding and fun camp experience while learning the fundamentals of basketball and making new friends.
A low camper-to-counselor ratio ensures that participants have the opportunity to reach their full potential. The themes we stress are teamwork, creating a safe learning environment for all campers, accountability, sportsmanship, and that each boy "be the best camper" he can be.
The morning session focuses on individual and team instruction in fundamentals. Campers practice in smaller learning groups or game situations. The afternoon session begins with either a mini-lecture or competitions addressing a particular skill, such as shooting, individual defense, or a team concept. We focus on these fundamentals to reinforce the skill development of each camper and to raise the level of each player’s game.
Program Objectives
- Improve basic game skills: shooting, dribbling, rebounding, and passing
- Improve offensive and defensive positional play
- Improve overall fitness
- Offer continual coaching during instructional and game situations
- Learn basic strategies and rules of basketball
- Emphasize teamwork and fair play
- Learn more about basketball while enjoying the game
Facilities
The Boys Basketball Camp uses a combination of six partially shaded outdoor courts and four indoor courts. Campers rotate from the indoor and outdoor playing surfaces during the morning and afternoon sessions to efficiently manage the amount of time spent on the outdoor courts.
