Advice for incoming freshmen:  My main advice for incoming students is to be open-minded and try new things, college is a fresh-start so make the most of it.

Most memorable Babson experience: Honestly? I think I've made too many memorable experiences at Babson already - if I had to pick one, though, it would definitely be the First-Year/Senior Retreat!

Advice for incoming freshmen: Four years isn't a very long amount of time - it's going to fly by. Make the most of your time here by hitting the ground running. Treat each day as if it was your last, and always ask yourself this, "if my life were to end tomorrow, would I have any regrets for today?" And always, always, stay true to yourself and be yourself, just because someone says something is impossible shouldn't ever deter you (within realistic limits, of course, you should be able to judge this).

Campus Activities:

  • President of Sigma Kappa
  • O.N.E. General Member

Most memorable Babson experience: My most memorable Babson experience was during the Greek Week my freshman year. Sigma Kappa nominated me to be their Greek Goddess for the Greek God and Goddess competition and all of my sisters helped me with every part of the competition. From practicing with me to perfect my talent "Dove Lake," a combination of ballet and hip hop dance, to designing my toga and being my "stage moms" throughout the competition, I had never felt so much love and support. On the day of the competition they were all so excited for me and it was the greatest feeling when all 60 of my sisters were sitting in the front row cheering me on and just being overly excited and proud of me. It was a great, great day!

Advice for incoming freshmen: My advice for incoming students would be to take advantage of professors office hours. No matter how busy you are, always make time to go to office hours and to get to know your professors outside of the classroom. I promise, this will benefit you tremendously! Even if you are struggling and feel like you want to give up, that is the best time to continue conversations with your professors outside of the classroom. It is never too late in the semester to ask your professor for help and show how hard you are trying!

Most memorable Babson experience: Learning a German accent for my first production with the Babson players, being elected for the Class of 2013 Steering Committee, and experiencing my first show!

Most memorable Babson Experience: My most memorable Babson experience is actually with Babson students but outside of Babson. This summer we went to London through the Honors Program, and we were able to attend a USA Women's Soccer game against Columbia in Scotland with full USA war paint and gear. I most likely never would have been afforded the opportunity to have this international experience without attending Babson.

Advice for incoming freshmen: Keep an open mind, don't over-commit, and have fun! College is the beginning of your freedom. Savor it while you can.

  • Greek Council - President
  • Theta Chi Fraternity
  • Emerging Leaders Program
Most memorable Babson Experience: There have been so many awesome moments and experiences at Babson it’s hard to qualify one as the best. Though, I would say one of the most humbling and memorable moments I've been a part of was in the spring of 2012 when I won the Emerging Leader of the Year Award from Babson.

Advice for incoming freshmen: Don't forget that every freshman is in the same boat as you, everyone wants to make as many friends as possible, everyone wants to set themselves up for success, etc. - use that as motivation to meet and become friends with as many people as you possibly can during the beginning of your time at Babson. Also, go to the Org. Fair and sign up for lots of things, go to whatever your time allows, and find what stirs your passion, follow those things throughout college, and drop the rest!

Most memorable Babson Experience: Late night hall sitting and bonding with my freshmen hall-mates and sisters in Central. Also, all of orientation but especially the very first night.

Advice for incoming freshmen: College is a time for you to discover new interests, learn more about yourself, and grow. Since you only have four years to do this, start on day one of orientation. Try new things, sign up for activities you never thought you would get involved in, and get to know your classmates early on. You only get one orientation, so live it up!

Advice for incoming freshmen: Don’t hold yourself back; take advantage of all of Babson’s resources, the writing center, clubs and organizations! Joining these helps you meet people and get involved, but don't over commit, school is the most important and you don't want to get behind in your work!

Campus Activities:

  • Alpha Epsilon Pi
  • Sophomore Steering Tower
  • Rotaract Club
  • Honors Program

Most memorable Babson experience: My most memorable Babson experience to date was the Report to the Community for my FME group.  I will never forget how amazing it felt to inform the Boys and Girls Club of the large donation we were making, especially after all of the work we put in to raise that money.

Advice for incoming freshmen:  My biggest piece of advice to incoming students would be to keep a schedule.  It can be very hard to keep track of meetings and events during your hectic first year at Babson but having a schedule will not only keep you from planning on being in three spots at once, but will also allow you to make sure you are getting a good amount of sleep and time to enjoy the whole college experience instead of just overworking yourself.

Most memorable Babson experience: Freshman year, I was the villain Glen Guglia in the Babson Players production of The Wedding Singer. I had never acted before or sang in public! It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life to date.

Advice for incoming freshmen: Keep an open mind! Some of my greatest friendships and experiences at Babson have been from trying new things. Babson is one of the biggest collections of different people, ideas, and activities that you can find anywhere SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!

Most memorable Babson experience: My most memorable Babson experience was when my field hockey team won the NEWMAC championship for the first time ever in 2010. We made history. It was amazing to hold up that trophy after dedicating ourselves to the sport all fall and pushing ourselves every day.

Advice for incoming freshmen: Manage your time. You need to find what works for you and everyone's different. It's all about finding that balance between academics, extracurricular activities, and your social life.

Most memorable Babson experience: My freshman orientation opening ceremony. Nothing like sitting in Webster and getting dumped on with green confetti and a dancing beaver on stage as "Beautiful Day" by U2 plays in the background.

Advice for incoming freshmen: Go into Babson with an open mind. You may already be set on the clubs and organizations you want to join but do not close yourself off to other opportunities that will present themselves in the first few weeks of school

Most memorable Babson experience: Doing a Jackson Pollock (one of my favorite artist) project with a bunch of friends (think crazy kids, music, & spattered paint). and then dragging our paint-covered selves to eat dinner at Trim (yea, we got plenty of looks).
Note: Using 3 bottles of shampoo to get the paint out - not fun, but worth it!

Advice for incoming freshmen: The best table in the library is hidden on the 2nd floor.. so it's not too loud or too quiet. It used to be my secret spot before I found out that it was EVERYONE's secret spot too. Find it, fight for it, and it will be worth it!

Most memorable Babson experience: My most memorable Babson experience is flying down to Florida with my the softball team to play 14 games in a week! It my first time flying so I didn't know what to expect but it was an absolutely amazing week to get to be with my team down in such great weather for spring break. It's something I really look forward to every year.

Advice for incoming freshmen: Learn from the people around you. Babson is so cultured that if you take the time to really learn about the people you interact with then you can walk away learning so many new things. Group work is a key part of Babson so use it to your advantage and get to know the different things about people you're working with.
