Babson is here to support you. At Babson, we recognize that career development does not end at graduation and that in these unprecedented economic times, the need for alumni career development support is even greater. Through the combined efforts of the Alumni & Friends Network, Babson Alumni Association, and Centers for Career Development, Babson offers several Alumni Career Development Resources.  Please review the descriptions below to determine what would most appropriately support your career development needs at this time.  Click on each career resource title below or visit www.babson.edu/alumni/careers to access all resources.

  • On Line Workshops & Webinars
    • Alumni & Friends Network  With 24/7 access, you can view online workshops to guide you through your job search process.  Topics include Resume Writing, Networking and Interviewing. 
    • Undergraduate Center for Career Development  View a series of online workshops designed to provide current students and alumni with 24/7 access to job search assistance.  Relevant topics for alumni include Cover Letters, Interviewing, Networking, and Leveraging Social Media. 
  • Job Search Resources
    • Job Postings for Alumni  Babson maintains a password-protected postings site (Career Connections) where Babson alumni can search for employment opportunities.  Alumni can access postings 24/7 using their Babson username and password.  Contact the Alumni & Friends Network office for your username and password at 781-239-4562.
    • Databases for Industry and Company Research  Alumni have free on-line access to some of the important research databases you used as a student that can support your career development.  In addition, Horn Library (781.239.4596) maintains several other resources that may be of value to alumni engaged in a job search.  Alumni may obtain a Babson alumni ID card from the Alumni & Friends Network (781-239-4562) and use the card to access resources in the library.

  • Networking Resources
    • Alumni Directory  A comprehensive list of alumni maybe obtained by viewing the Alumni Directory.  The Directory maintains contact information and allows you to search the alumni community based on a variety of criteria, including industry, company, and class year.  Directory information is populated by alumni.  It is implied that a alum who provides his/her contact inforation is open to be contacted by a fellow alum.
    • Babson Monday Network  This is a virtual networking group of over 450 Babson alumni that operates strictly via a listserv.  In addition to receiving announcements regarding job postings,
      subscribers can also post employment opportunities to the listserv.
    • Career Affinity Groups & Regional/International Clubs  CAGs offer industry-specific programming, with each of the 7 CAGS hosting one to two events per semester.  Networking is a large part of these events and time is provided both before and after the formal presentation for alumni to network. Each CAG has a listserv that alumni can easily join via the individual CAG web pages.  Listservs allow for easy, group-wide message exchanges with fellow CAG members.  Networking opportunities and a range of educational, social, and community service events are also hosted each year by our Regional and International Clubs.  Like the CAGs, some of the clubs also have designated listservs to communicate among the group both for networking and pertinent information exchange.
  • Career Guidance
    • Career Counseling & Assessment  In-person or virtual career counseling for undergraduate alumni can be arranged.  Discussion may focus on such topics as resources, job search strategy, resume and cover letter critiques, and interview preparation.  Alumni are eligible for up to two individual appointments with a career counselor.  As part of the counseling process, we offer to online career assessment tools:  Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Career Leader.  Please contact us for instructions.
      • Career Leader is comprised of three tests developed especially for business professionals to help clarify your business-focused interests, motivators, and abilities and what the combination of these three qualities infers for you in the professional world.  The cost is $75 (please note this is a discounted price for Babson alumni)
      • Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an online assessment instrument that provides insights about work preferences which may inform career choices.  The results provide an indication of appropriate work roles as well as appropriate job search strategies and techniques.  The on-line assessment takes less than one hour to complete and an individual interpretation will be provided by a Babson career counselor upon completion of the application.  The cost is $25.
    • Career Coaching  The Undergraduate and MBA Centers for Career Development have compiled a list of career service agencies and career coaches for alumni who seek one-on-one guidance.
    • Career Transition Strategies  Review helpful tips on various career topics geared toward the mid-career and seasoned professional, including strategies for negotiating offers, changing careers, and coping with job loss.
