I was an environmental policy wonk throughout high school and college, and, in that world, business often is labeled the bad guy. So, I still find it amusing that I ended up in B-school, but I also try to use that oft-skeptical perspective to my advantage. After college, I ended up turning my interest in humor into a job at The Onion, which was my dream job at the time. But, while The Onion does a good job of holding up a mirror to the ills of society, it doesn’t do anything to enact actual change. So, I ultimately ended up at Babson to learn how to combine creativity with business acumen, which I hope will provide me with a powerful toolkit for positive change.

Words That Changed My Life

“Life is mostly attitude and timing.” – Jerry Jeff Walker

How I Want to Change the World

I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up!

What the World Needs from Entrepreneurs Today

An impact strategy, not an exit strategy.

What You Need to Know about Babson

It isn’t Harvard, it isn’t MIT. We do things differently than they do down river in Cambridge, and that’s a great thing! Babson students can be scrappy, and the entrepreneurial ethos of Babson is inherent in how students go about their pursuit of the degree. This is not a cookie-cutter MBA program, and that’s why I believe in it.

My Proudest Moment in Business

A tie between the publication of Our Dumb World: The Onion’s Atlas of the Planet Earth, and the restoration and reopening of the Wilder Center in Wilder, Vermont.

How I Define Entrepreneurship

The ability to see things differently, the willingness to try something new, and the tenacity to make it happen.
