I Joined Babson Because

I knew that this role would be challenging, that this was a community in which I would thrive, and that Amir Reza (vice provost, my supervisor) would become the mentor I had been hoping for my entire career.

The Biggest Challenge I’ve Overcome

An ongoing challenge is combating the common but overly simplistic tendency to group students according to the binary, international and domestic. I continue to collaborate on efforts to help students and staff acknowledge bias, break down stereotypes, and recognize how we are all united and divided along a multitude of identities including ability, gender identity and expression, race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, etc.

How to Succeed at Babson

Embrace the entrepreneurial spirit—offer up new, creative ideas. Babson is not a place where “that’s just how we’ve always done it” carries much weight.

What I Do

I strive to help students and staff develop a global mindset, to increase their capacity for empathy and their ability to understand others through an ethnorelative approach.

The Babson Spirit

The Babson community embraces collaboration and a willingness to share expertise, about all aspects of entrepreneurship, business, and society.

My Greatest Babson Accomplishment

Being a part of the grassroots initiative that became the LGBTQ Action Group has been particularly meaningful. The group of students, staff, faculty, and alumni continue to work together to advance Babson’s standing as a welcoming community for the LGBTQ community and their allies by raising awareness and making institutional change.

The Babson Culture

Very fast paced and constantly changing. Babson is a place where experimentation is encouraged, and small failures are seen as critical to growth and success.

How I Embrace Entrepreneurship

I never stop searching for new opportunities to improve the Babson experience for our students and staff.
