What Words Have Changed Your Life?
My junior year at Babson, I was faced with a hard decision. I spoke with my field hockey coach, Julie Ryan, and she told me that I could either walk away and be done with the current problem or to stick with it, learn something, and grow as a person. Instead of walking away, I took a step back, re-evaluated the situation, and, sure enough, I stuck with it and grew as a person.
How Do You Want to Change the World?
I want the world to truly understand the “power of a team.” Not just an athletic team or a business team, but a person or a group of people that you can rely on to support you no matter what. In order to make progress, we must take risks and people are more likely to make that leap if they have a person or group to catch them if they fall.
Why Does the World Need More Leaders with an Entrepreneurial Mindset?
Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.” There is no progress with no risk and in order to advance our world, more leaders must have a willingness to open their minds to new and alternative methods depending on the current situation and resources.
What Is Your Proudest Moment in Business?
After 2½ years of working at Team IMPACT, I have been put in charge of rebuilding our CRM system with an external company. I have been working with our project manager for a few months now, and, yesterday, I had my first look at the new system. Our project manager mentioned that it is one of the most complicated systems that she has worked on, but also that it has been the most fun. I was proud that I have been able to fully immerse myself in Team IMPACT’s mission so that I was able to articulate our processes and build something that will completely enhance our company procedures.
What Do Others Need to Know about Babson?
What you learn in the Babson classrooms, doing work with your peers, or even during extracurriculars will propel you to succeed in whatever field you end up in. You’ll interact with so many different types of people, so it is important to be willing to learn from each and everyone one of them. Babson is a small community, home to some huge ideas.
How Do You Define Entrepreneurship?
Entrepreneurship is the process of constantly evolving processes or products based on what is available and bringing together all that one has learned in the many areas of life. We are all multidimensional; entrepreneurship is the ability to bring one part of life into another to make it better and not being afraid to take that risk.
