Why I chose Babson
I want to be an entrepreneur, someone who embodies a big idea, and everything I heard and read about Babson told me it was a perfect place for entrepreneurs.
How has Babson helped in your career development?
I learned a lot from my Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship business, BoomCube, which imported iPhone cases that amplified speaker volume. I was in charge of B2B sales, meaning I had to cold call potential customers. It was not something I had experience with, but while I was really uncomfortable at the beginning, I felt much more confident by the end. It’s a great example of how I’ve already grown so much since I came to Babson.
What impact did your scholarship have on your Babson experience?
Babson connected me with a great scholarship opportunity offered by Kronospan, a manufacturer of wood-based panels that has factories in my home country of Romania and all over Europe. I applied, interviewed, and got the scholarship. As part of the scholarship, every winter and summer break I intern at different Kronospan locations. I’ve already had internships in England and Bulgaria, and both have been amazing experiences.
Who you know in life is of the utmost importance, and the scholarship I received gave me the opportunity to come to Babson and be a part of an extraordinary network of international scholars.
What do others need to know about Babson?
I very much benefited from the international environment here. I’m neither Indian nor Greek, but was involved with the Indian and Greek cultural organizations, and it was an absolutely great way to meet people.
