What Piece of Advice Changed Your Life?

Don’t be afraid to use your voice. I was so shy and hated being wrong, so I would often second-guess my ideas and thoughts. A Babson professor taught me it’s more important to just throw it all out there than to be right.

How Has Being a Member of the Babson Community Helped Impact Your Career?

Babson is incredible: Its network, its access, and its mentality of exploration have helped me carve an unconventional but fulfilling path across multiple industries and disciplines. The entrepreneurial mindset and audacity to ask why or why not has given me success in the nonprofit sector, as a reporter for a small newspaper, as an insurance adjuster, and in my life as an artist.

Why Does the World Need More Leaders with an Entrepreneurial Mindset?

The world needs leaders who know that numbers and metrics are great tools, but not the gospel truth: Entrepreneurs know how to find the story behind the numbers and thus are more adept and adaptive to ever-changing environments.

What Do Others Need to Know about Babson?

Babson is a great place for exploration! Get dirty. Make mistakes. Try new things. Use it as your scholarly playground. From painting in the ceramic studio, to singing and dancing with the Babson Players, tutoring in the Writing Center to studying abroad in the UK, Russia, and China, every single Babson opportunity shaped me into the woman I am today. I always dreamt of going overseas, so to be able to do so and realize how much our humanity connects us regardless of language, culture, and location was simply priceless.
