Ximena Arguelles MBA’19
Graduate Student, Two-Year MBA
What is your pre-Babson experience?
Before coming to Babson, I was a lawyer and a project manager and previously attended Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.
Why did you choose Babson for your graduate education?
I chose Babson because of its collaborative environment. It is the perfect place to discover your passion and surround yourself with classmates that will help you achieve your dreams. It offers the right balance between strong business skills and personal development.
What are your career goals?
After earning my MBA, I want to return to Mexico and transform the relationship between business and philanthropy. I believe that by building socially sustainable business models, we will be able to close the inequality gap in Mexico and provide for better opportunities for all. I see Babson as an incubator for my dreams; the school’s focus on social entrepreneurship and social innovation will help me build the necessary skills to go back and transform the way business is done.
As a Babson student, what do you do when not in class?
I’m involved with the Lewis Institute for Social Innovation, The Babson Latin American Club, and the Graduate Student Council.
What was your favorite part of the Babson student experience?
My classmates. I love that we are all interested in helping each other reach our goals. Even though we come from diverse backgrounds, you can see that we are all here because we believe that collaboration is better than competition. Also, Babson’s faculty are the best, always willing to help and listen, it is obvious that teaching is their passion and that really makes a difference in students’ lives.
