    Climate Injustice

O.N.E. presents our next forum: Climate Injustice. O.N.E. exists to create space at Babson where people can talk honestly about inequality and where it comes from. Climate change is one of the clearest examples. Everyone lives with it, but nobody experiences it the same way. Where you live, how much money your country has, and how strong its infrastructure is decide how much you lose and how fast you recover. So this forum asks one question. If we did not all contribute equally to climate change, should we all carry the consequences equally? We will work through four ideas together. Differentiated vulnerability, or why some places get hit harder. Climate debt, or who benefited from the emissions that created this. Loss and damage, or the homes, roads, and lives that cannot be adapted away. Climate injustice, which is what happens when you put all three together. The main activity is the Climate Justice Auction. Each group runs a country with a different budget and bids on things like clean water, flood protection, hospitals, and evacuation. Then a disaster hits, the UN fund runs short, and we talk about what that felt like. We close with Nepal, where flooding has destroyed homes and livelihoods. Through our ONE for Nepal fundraiser, we will be raising money for Nepali victims. Bring your questions and bring where you call home. Find out more Green Chevron
