Ashleigh Hala, MSW has been appointed Associate Director of Wellness and Director of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services at Babson College.

In this new position, Hala will develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive, trauma-informed and empowering sexual violence prevention program that will include educational workshops, intervention services, and consultation regarding policy initiatives.

Hala will also serve as a private reporting source and support person for students who have experienced sexual harassment, stalking, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault or rape.

“Babson has built an infrastructure that will promptly address sexual violence, support students, and significantly assess and shift campus culture,” said Hala. “I am honored to be a part of such a dedicated team, and to serve as a conduit for student services and advocacy."

Hala joins Babson College from Wheelock College where she most recently served as Associate Director of Residence Life, and oversaw the hiring, training, and supervision of 21 resident assistants and seven resident directors. She was a member of the PRIDE Committee, the staff advisor to the Gay-Straight Alliance, and a member of the Social Work Advisory Board. In recognition of her significant contributions to the Wheelock community, Hala was nominated by colleagues and selected by the president for the annual President’s Service Award. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Wheelock College and a master’s degree in social work with a focus in community organizing, program development, and human services management from Boston University.
