Entrepreneurship education has not changed significantly in over 30 years until today.
A new book, Teaching Entrepreneurship: A Practice-Based Approach, by Babson professors Heidi M. Neck, Patricia G. Greene, and Candida G. Brush, advocates teaching entrepreneurship as a method, prioritizing a practice-based approach over the traditional process approach.
Their entrepreneurship teaching method involves a selection of practices, including empathy, play, creation, experimentation, and reflection. These practices are designed to develop and enhance entrepreneurial learning capacity and provide entrepreneurs of all kinds with the skills necessary to navigate an uncertain, constantly changing world, according to the authors.
Teaching Entrepreneurship also offers entrepreneurship educators relevant, targeted exercises for immediate application in the classroom.

Heidi M. Neck
Heidi M. Neck, Ph.D. is the Jeffry A. Timmons Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at Babson College. She teaches entrepreneurship at the MBA and executive levels. Her research interests include entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurship inside organizations, and creative thinking. Patricia G. Greene, PhD,
