For the third year, Babson College hosted the 13.1-mile start of the annual Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk on Sunday,September 9.

Sponsored by Hyundai, The Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk allows participants to follow the 26.2-mile Boston Marathon that begins in Hopkinton and ends in downtown Copley Square. For those who walked the 13+ miles to Boston, Babson served as the halfway point or the starting line.

Participants and sponsors are not the only ones with a mission to conquer cancer—volunteering gives the opportunity to honor friends, family, co-workers, and patients fighting all forms of cancer. Babson volunteers included incoming first-years, as well as returning students, faculty, administration, and staff.

The Jimmy Fund supports the fight against adult and pediatric cancer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world-renowned pioneer in discovering and developing innovative, more effective cancer therapies. The Jimmy Fund’s supporters enable Dana-Farber’s physicians and researchers to do the work necessary to raise the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. Progress is continually being made thanks to research funding raised by the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk.

Over the past 24 years, the Walk has raised more than $80 million to support cancer research and care at Dana-Farber.
