BABSON ALUMNUS NAMED ‘PEACE FIRST PRIZE’ FINALIST
Babson College alumnus Daquan Oliver ’14 has been selected as a finalist to receive the Peace First Prize for helping to empower children of low-income to become the entrepreneurial leaders of tomorrow.
Daquan and his team at Recesspreneurs teach life skills, facilitate entrepreneurial thinking, and strive to close the achievement gap.
According to Peace First, “Daquan created the curriculum with help from his [Babson] professors after becoming a successful entrepreneur while still in college, despite the fact that he grew up in a financially insecure single-parent household. Recesspreneurs empowers both mentor and mentee, and to date has served more than 30 youth participants in two communities with the help of more than a dozen college student mentors. Daquan is looking forward to expanding in five additional communities during the 2015-2016 school year, which will serve more than 60 youth participants, and involve over 20 college mentors.”
