Babson College and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce will honor local organizations at the first ever Celebrating Entrepreneurship of All Kinds™ event, presented by Citizens Bank, on November 19, 2014.

Entrepreneurial thinkers from all spheres of the Greater Boston economic landscape will be celebrated for their role in transforming the region’s organizations and companies into vibrant enterprises that spur economic growth and opportunity.

“Innovation and entrepreneurship make tremendous contributions in building dynamic, inclusive business communities and expanding our employment opportunities,” said Paul Guzzi, Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce President & CEO. “We hope you will join usas we applaud some of Boston’s most entrepreneurial organizations and companies.”

Among the organizations to be recognized is Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a champion of medical innovation in Boston. The Brigham performed the nation’s first face transplant in 2011, and recently launched the Brigham Innovation Hub (iHub) which inspires and coaches the hospital’s innovators propelling their ideas forward to bring clinical innovations to life. The iHub also works with external health tech start-ups by connecting Brigham clinicians with innovative and transformative technology to give them the tools to address complex clinical challenges, deliver better care, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. At the November event, Brigham and Women’s Hospital President Betsy Nabel, MD will share ways the Brigham has sought to act entrepreneurially and introduce Jeff Karp, PhD who will reveal a next-generation surgical procedure, inspired by his belief that evolution and nature are the best problem solvers.

“Everyone, everywhere is talking about entrepreneurship,” said Babson College President Kerry Healey. “Our economy needs entrepreneurial minded people at every level of every organization, from large corporations and family businesses to nonprofit organizations and social causes. Entrepreneurial thinking is what helps people of all ages, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds solve big problems, grow operations, and mobilize social change.”

The event is made possible through the generosity of presenting sponsor, Citizens Bank. “Entrepreneurship is such a profoundly positive force in our community and economy,” said Jerry Sargent, President, Citizens Bank and Citizens Commercial Banking, Massachusetts. “Citizens Bank is proud to join Babson College and the Greater Boston Chamber in celebrating entrepreneurs of all kinds here in Boston.”

Celebrating Entrepreneurship of All Kinds™ will be held in Boston’s Innovation District at The Atrium at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. Tickets cost $100 per person. Register to attend and experience the power of entrepreneurship for yourself.
