For the third consecutive year, PayScale has named Babson College the best private business school nationwide for alumni earning and its students’ future salary potential.

According to PayScale’s 2017-2018 College Salary Report , Babson College is also ranked:

  • No. 2 in Massachusetts, second only to MIT, regardless of whether or not alumni go on to earn an advanced degree
  • No. 8 nationwide among alumni who do not pursue an advanced degree
  • No. 9 among all alumni, including those who went on to earn a graduate degree from any school

Babson College undergraduate alumni now earn a median early-career pay of $66,600, and a mid-career pay of $141,700. In comparison to PayScale data reported just last year, this is an 11 percent increase in early-career pay, up from $59,500, and a 14 percent increase in mid-career pay, up from $122,000.

Alumni who also obtain an advanced degree earn a median early-career pay of $67,300, and a mid-career pay of $149,400. This is also an 11 percent increase in early-career pay, up from $60,100, and a 13 percent increase in mid-career pay, up from $130,000.

“Being the No.1 private business school for salary potential for the third year in a row is another example of the power and value of the Babson alumni network,” said Alumni and Friends Network Managing Director, Gerri Randlett . “We are proud of our alumni and the many ways they contribute to Babson and beyond.”

Babson College is a known leader in education return on investment (ROI). Earlier this year, PayScale also ranked Babson the No. 1 private business school for ROI. The college was also recently named No. 2 for alumni earnings among U.S. business programs according to the U.S. Department of Education, and a top ‘college that pays you back’ by The Princeton Review.

Babson also continues to innovate around college affordability, having recently announced an opportunity for students to accelerate their path to an undergraduate degree in as little as three years. This option could increase return on investment for students, reduce tuition by up to 25 percent, and has a potential immediate financial benefit of up to $105,931.

“We are proud to offer our students a top-ranked, transformative learning experience that serves up a return on investment well beyond their time here on campus,” said Babson College Undergraduate School Dean Ian Lapp. “While we celebrate PayScale’s recognition of Babson as one of the best undergraduate schools for salary potential, we also revel in the fact that our graduates go on to create impact far greater than personal and financial gain—global economic and social value that extends from the many startups, family businesses, and other organizations in which they innovate.”

The 2017-2018 PayScale College Salary Report includes 1,532 of the 2,147 eligible bachelor's degree granting schools in the U.S, and 1,186 of the 2,092 eligible associate degree granting schools. Data used to produce the report were collected from degree-holding, full-time, civilian employees working in the U.S. This year, the report includes three types of degree holders: those with a bachelor's degree only, those who obtained their bachelor’s degree from the school in question and then went on to get a higher degree from any school, and those who hold only an associate degree.

This year, PayScale surveyed 2.3 million graduates of more than 2,700 colleges and universities nationwide—over 1,300 more schools than were included in the 2016-2017 report.
