The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Babson College and Entrepreneurial Spark recently introduced the “Think Like An Entrepreneur” program to develop entrepreneurial business skills at RBS in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The program was specifically designed to develop entrepreneurial leaders who create new opportunities with great economic and social value. Babson Entrepreneurship Professors Angelo Santinelli, Les Charm and Entrepreneurial Spark CEO James Duffy explored the entrepreneurial mindset and shared the tools, strategies and confidence necessary to increase business success.

The Think Like An Entrepreneur program:

  • Explores the responsibilities of being an entrepreneurial leader.
  • Shows how to identify and take full advantage of the business proposition.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors and mindset necessary to succeed as an entrepreneur.

“This was a fantastic opportunity for new entrepreneurs to learn from an institute that is synonymous with entrepreneurialism globally,” said Gordon Merrylees, RBS Managing Director of Business Banking. “We want to become the bank of choice for entrepreneurs, and we think that supporting entrepreneurs is about much more than just providing finance - it's hugely important to build knowledge, provide expertise, create confidence, and facilitate networks. By doing all those things, we will develop entrepreneurs who are better equipped to meet the challenges of starting out, growing and ultimately succeeding in business, which is good for the businesses involved and it’s good for Scotland’s economy.”

“We applaud RBS’ commitment to become THE bank for Scotland’s entrepreneurs and we are delighted to join with RBS and Entrepreneurial Spark to deliver a program that is designed to develop great Scottish leaders who think and act entrepreneurially,” said Dr. Elaine J. Eisenman, Dean of Babson Executive and Enterprise Education. “At Babson, we firmly believe that entrepreneurship is the most powerful force on the planet for creating economic and social value. This program is an exciting step towards infusing an entrepreneurial spirit and growing Scotland’s economy.”
