2,000 top athletes from around the globe compete in the annual Escape from Alcatraz triathlon. It includes a 1.5 mile swim in icy waters, an 18 mile bike ride on steep hills, and an 8 mile run up a 400 step sand ladder.
The Babson Corporate Challenge element of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon is an opportunity for workmates to participate in a social atmosphere outside of the workplace, while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
The Babson Corporate Challenge also promotes positive competition among corporate teams, as well as a chance to network within the business community. Your rival on the racecourse could be your next partner in business. The Babson Corporate Challenge aims to foster positive relationships among teammates and corporate opponents.
“Babson is proud to be the Title Sponsor of the Corporate Challenge,” said Sara Quist, director of marketing for the graduate school, “as Babson MBA graduates are entrepreneurial leaders that embody the same skills that a triathlete has to succeed: racing against the clock, the competition, the challenges, and ultimately finding opportunity. With our campus in the SoMa district, we are excited to be part of this important event for the city of San Francisco.”
Corporate teams will compete for the "Keys to the Rock" perpetual trophy. This trophy will reside for the year at the winning team's offices. The winning team is invited back the following year to defend their title and retain all the bragging rights that go along with it.
