This business leadership course will help you crystalize your definition of resilience, integrate it into your entrepreneurial leadership style, and transform your team’s culture so it can thrive.
You can increase your capacity to find and develop resilience, in turn helping you more effectively help others. How you find resilience depends in part on how you have historically found resilience. Looking at especially resilient moments from your past can help you identify some of your key strategies and strengths in finding resilience.

Award-winning researcher and professor Scott Taylor studies the various approaches organizations use to assess and develop their leaders. Taylor has taught and consulted for executives and working professionals from leading organizations around the world.
Vanessa Druskat is an associate professor of organizational behavior at the Peter T. Paul College of Business & Economics at the University of New Hampshire. An internationally recognized expert on the role of emotion and emotional intelligence in effective leadership, she is an award-winning teacher and researcher who has authored more than three dozen research articles.

Resilience is not something we have or don’t have—I believe resilience is something we find.
Collectively, Scott Taylor and Vanessa Druskat have had their research on resilient leadership, resonant leadership, and emotional intelligence featured in a number of publications including Harvard Business Review, MSNBC, Bloomberg Businessweek, and The Wall Street Journal blog.
When managers first started hearing about the concept of emotional intelligence, the basic message resonated deeply: effectiveness in organizations is at least as much about EQ as IQ. Most importantly, the idea held the potential for positive change. Instead of being stuck with the hand they’d been dealt, people could take steps to enhance their emotional intelligence.
According to Scott Taylor, resonant leadership is a relational approach to leadership. The relationships these leaders create with others allow them to maintain influence for long periods and drive long-term individual and organizational results. His research has found that demonstrating emotional and social competence is the key to creating resonance.
Resilience is a central capability of effective, entrepreneurial leaders. Resilient leadership is all about creating a connection with others and an overall positive tone within an organization. How does it work? It all goes back to neuroscience; the task-positive and default-mode brain networks that are highly involved in one’s ability to achieve and sustain resilience.

How and when will I have access to the course materials?
Course materials are provided via Canvas, Babson’s online learning portal. Materials will be made available to participants approximately one to seven days prior to the first live online session, depending on the amount of pre-work that participants are expected to complete in advance.

Do I need to join the virtual sessions live? Will they be recorded?
We highly recommend that participants join the live online sessions. It is an opportunity to ask questions, participate in rich discussion, and learn from the experience of your program peers. However, we do understand that emergencies arise, so sessions will be recorded and made available upon request.

How long will I have access to the online materials?
Course materials on Canvas will be available for six months following the completion of the program.

What will I receive upon completion of the program?
Each program participant receives a certificate of completion. We invite participants to add the program to their LinkedIn profile. Note that a certificate will not be provided if there is insufficient evidence of participation.
Do you have translation for non-English speaking participants?
We do not offer translation in our programs. Although we do not require the TOEFL, all Babson Executive Education programs are taught in English, so it is a prerequisite that you speak, read, and write English proficiently.
