This entrepreneurial leadership and influence skills workshop is a highly interactive experiential learning opportunity. You will role play leadership influence strategies and scenarios in order to improve your ability to influence others. Give and receive feedback on your developing influential leadership skills through peer coaching and a leadership assessment. Recognized as one of the most cited entrepreneurship researchers in the world, Professor Andrew Corbett is the chair of the Entrepreneurship Division at Babson College. An internationally recognized expert on entrepreneurship, Phil Kim studies, teaches, and advises on different aspects of how entrepreneurial ideas become reality. Widely published and a sought-after conference speaker, he also regularly advises entrepreneurs on issues related to launching and establishing their businesses, and coaches student entrepreneurs as they start their businesses. Prior to becoming an academic, he worked as a management consultant.
Highly regarded Professor Wendy Murphy’s research, training, and teaching focus on the area of careers: mentoring and developmental networks, identity, and the work-life interface. Her work has been published in MIT Sloan Management Review, Harvard Business Review, and more.
Professor Rollag’s research delves into newcomer socialization and training, organizational culture, social networks, and leadership development. His work has been published in books and in Harvard Business Review, MIT/Sloan Management Review, and others. Prior to earning his Ph.D., Rollag was a product development manager at Procter & Gamble.
Award-winning researcher and professor Scott Taylor studies the various approaches organizations use to assess and develop their leaders. Taylor has taught and consulted for executives and working professionals from leading organizations around the world.
Community-builder, innovator, educator, problem-solver, and entrepreneurial leader Jane C. Edmonds currently serves as Babson College’s VP for Community Outreach, where she executes strategic programming that brings Entrepreneurial Thought and Action® to the greater Boston community.

Influential leadership can come naturally, but it’s not necessarily innate. Influential leadership can be learned, practiced, and developed, in order to build leadership influence strategies. Understanding entrepreneurial leadership and honing the necessary leadership and influence skills are important to becoming an effective entrepreneurial leader.
According to influential leadership faculty Wendy Murphy and Scott Taylor, leaders can manage effectively for years and years, permitting they have a strong work-life balance and possess exceptional adaptability traits. “As long as you can continue to adapt, and grow, and learn, and contribute new things, there’s no shelf life to leadership.”
Scott Taylor brings a desire to rethink business education and to define entrepreneurial leadership for generations to come. “I’m excited about the opportunity to define more effectively what entrepreneurial leadership is from an academic standpoint,” pointing to research, science, and rigor to help measure the impact.

The program fee includes your tuition and program materials. In most cases, meals during the program are included. Some programs include accommodations. Travel and personal expenses are not included (such as alcoholic beverages consumed with meals, telephone, and other incidentals).

Business casual is appropriate for classes and activities at the Babson Executive Conference Center. As classroom temperatures can vary, we suggest layered clothing.
What is the closest airport?
Boston Logan International Airport is the closest airport to Babson College (approximately 15 miles from the center). Travel times can vary based on the time of day.
What is the best way to get to the conference center from the airport?
The best way to get to the conference center/college would be to use a Ride app, arrange for a private car/van service, or take a taxi. There are commuter rail and subway stations nearby as well, but, private transportation between stations and Babson College is required.

Do I need to join the virtual sessions live? Will they be recorded?
We highly recommend that participants join the live online sessions. It is an opportunity to ask questions, participate in rich discussion, and learn from the experience of your program peers. However, we do understand that emergencies arise, so sessions will be recorded and made available upon request.
