Marty Howard is an accomplished financial professional with more than three decades of higher education industry experience providing senior leadership and strategic support for all matters relating to the financial management of academic and research enterprises. Most recently, he served as CFO and Treasurer at Boston University for more than twelve years. Mr. Howard has broad experience and knowledge in accounting, finance, treasury, investment management, financial reporting, budget planning, joint ventures, compliance, tax, risk management and procurement.

Mr. Howard has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Boston University and Northeastern University in the areas of accounting, finance and investments. He is the former Chairman and President of the Treasurers' Club of Boston and has served on the Board of Directors for Financial Executives International (FEI) Greater Boston Chapter. In addition, he has served as a CFA exam grader and as a member of the CFA Institute's Candidate Curriculum Committee. He has also served as Director and Vice-Chairman of the Boston Consortium for Higher Education as well as Commissioner of the New England Commission of Institutions of Higher Education.

He began his career with the public accounting firm of Peat Marwick Mitchell and Co. after receiving his MBA from Northeastern University and a BA magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. In addition, he has earned and maintains the professional designations of Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
