Mary Powell, Director of Accessibility Services, oversees the Office of Accessibility Resources and the SPARK Peer Tutoring Program at Babson College, and has worked in the field of academic support for over 30 years. Mary is responsible for the management, strategic planning, and decision making for the academic support programs provided in the Center. Mary’s team manages the operational components of academic accommodations, which include but are not limited to, the exam proctoring program, the peer note-taking program, and the peer tutoring programs. Mary partners with colleagues to promote student accessibility as a campus-wide responsibility and promotes universal design principles.
Assistant Director of Accessibility Services
Christina Barry, Assistant Director of Accessibility Services, works jointly with the Director of Accessibility Services to assist with the implementation of reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. Christina works to maintain environments for students to achieve their potential without barriers, and she provides direct service to students in one-on-one and small group settings with an emphasis on self-advocacy. She collaborates with faculty and students through the exam proctoring program, peer note-taking program, and the peer tutoring program. Christina also teaches in the First-Year Seminar program and is responsible for hiring and supervising exam proctors and other student leaders.
