Executive Director of Campus Safety and Chief of Police

Erin S. Carcia joined the Babson College community in November 2011, with 15 plus years’ experience in urban and diverse communities developing best practice policies and procedures and establishing innovative programs and initiatives within the field of Campus Public Safety. Erin, began her role with Babson as the Assistant Director/Administrative Lieutenant for the Public Safety Department where she focused on working towards the Department receiving full accreditation from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission as well as other compliance management efforts. In 2018, Erin was promoted to Deputy Chief of Police/Director of Emergency Management where she further established department best practices surrounding recruitment, hiring, retention, training and professional development working to safeguard the entire community.

In summer of 2021, Erin was appointed as the Executive Director of Campus Safety and Chief of Police where she has been tasked with providing the vision, strategic management, and integration of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the Public Safety organization. In her new role, she will expand Babson’s leadership on diversity, equity, and inclusion, striving to continue to be a progressive model campus public safety department on that critical objective. Erin continues to look forward to working across our community to foster a climate and culture that supports and celebrates diversity, social justice, and an appreciation of our global interdependence. This new role will work towards strengthening and advancing the College’s emergency management and risk mitigation efforts, while expanding Public Safety’s collaborations and community engagement across campus. Erin really enjoys taking an innovative and problem-solving approach with everything she does and she understands the importance of communication and partnering with stakeholders. Erin earned her Bachelors in Criminal Justice as well as Masters in Public Administration from Northeastern University, in Boston and most importantly outside of Babson enjoys spending time with her family and 3 young daughters.
