Graduate Events

The F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business holds a number of events specifically for the graduate community.

The focus of these events is to allow the graduate population to network across programs, to provide a platform for students to meet and share ideas with upper-level administration, and to enhance the graduate curriculum.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

Fall and Spring Formals

The Fall Formal and Spring Formal are Babson Graduate student traditions, where students put on their finest and dance away the night. Each formal is unique, offering students the opportunity to visit areas in Boston and surrounding regions.

Buffoonery

Buffoonery is an annual, spring tradition coordinated entirely by the Babson Graduate Student population. The event is a variety show satirizing the Babson Graduate Student Experience, making light of peers, faculty, staff, and current events, using a variety of mediums, including live skits and video. Through the cheers and playful banter, Babson students celebrate the Babson experience with good-natured irreverence.

Friendsgiving in Olin Hall

Thanksgiving with the Dean is an annual event that allows students to gather with the dean to celebrate and learn about an American holiday. Students bring guests, significant others, and family members to join us for this holiday meal. MBA students deliver the story of Thanksgiving, which is followed by a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The event encourages international students to engage in a uniquely American holiday and tradition.

Graduate International Dinner

The Graduate International Dinner is an opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity of Babson’s graduate student population. Through this long standing annual event, graduate students and partners come together in a display of culture through food, music, dance. This year, since we were unable to celebrate International Dinner together in person a Graduate International Dinner Cookbook has been created to share in the spirit of this event virtually. Read the cookbook and share on social media #BabsonInternationalDinner

Grad Week

Grad Week is a Babson MBA tradition featuring a series of fantastic events and activities for graduating students. Past Grad Week events have included trips to Six Flags, paintball tournaments, hiking both Mount Monadnock and Mount Washington, along with overnight Cape Cod trips complete with beachside villas and lobster/clam bakes.

Ski Trip

The Annual Graduate Student Council Ski Trip invites Babson graduate students to hit the slopes every January. Babson students don their skis, boards, and beaver hats to travel to places such as Killington Ski Area, Stowe Mountain Resort, Sugarbush Resort, and Waterville Valley.

Babson Partners Program

At Babson, we recognize that your significant other and family play an important role in your life as a graduate student. Babson Partners’ Program—a group run by current students and their partners—gives you and your family access to social, cultural, and educational activities that not only enrich your MBA experience, but make your transition to Babson easy and fun. The Partners’ Program also networks with other partners programs and their equivalent at business schools throughout the region, gathering for social meet-up and play dates for those with children.
