Through the Glavin Office of International Education, Babson College offers 104 education abroad opportunities in more than 34 countries. We intentionally offer varying program durations (short-term, summer, semester and academic year) to meet the needs of athletes, student leaders, working students, and graduate students with families to ensure the greatest accessibility to all.
Every year, 200+ Babson students spend a summer, (6+ weeks), semester, or year abroad as an enriching part of their formal graduate and undergraduate education. An additional 300+ graduate and undergraduate students gain international experience through Babson Electives Abroad and International Consulting Experience as well as other noncredit–bearing, Babson-sponsored service programs.
Babson faculty play an important role in facilitating this valuable component of academic experience and this page is designed to provide faculty with information on the most common ways that they can be involved with the Glavin Office to support students’ international experiences.
Ways to Get Involved
Babson Electives Abroad are short-term courses that combine classroom instruction on the Babson campus with company site visits, cultural excursions, and hands-on experiences abroad. Led by Babson faculty, these courses also include in-country lectures given by partner school faculty and distinguished guest speakers.
Similar to the MCFE program, the International Consulting Experience takes the student team-based consulting experience global.
International Faculty Development Seminars, through Babson partners, provide faculty and administrators with access to rich academics, diverse intercultural experiences, and innovative approaches to learning and problem-solving needed to enhance syllabi, internationalize curricula, and increase global understanding on campus.
International scholars may be invited by Babson College academic or administrative departments to engage in temporary academic activities such as research and teaching at Babson College in J-1 Exchange Visitor status for up to five years.
Each year Babson hosts a series of events, speakers, and activities during a week in November, known as International Education Week. IEW is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This annual initiative promotes international understanding and builds support for international education and exchange.
