The John E. and Alice L. Butler Venture Accelerator

The John E. and Alice L. Butler Venture Accelerator supports and advances student entrepreneurial businesses in each phase of their startup venture—from opportunity exploration and pursuit with an action plan to the ultimate launch.

The John E. and Alice L. Butler Venture Accelerator serves all students looking to start or advance an entrepreneurial venture by providing an entrepreneurial community and support throughout the stages of developing their company including workshops, incubator workspace, peer mentoring programs, advising and other valuable resources. Selected student businesses are given access to professional and semiprivate workspace to grow and manage their businesses between classes.

International Students
Looking to get involved in the Butler Venture Accelerator? Engaging in employment (including self-employment and some entrepreneurial activities) without specific authorization is a serious violation of F-1 student/J-1 exchange visitor immigration status. While many entrepreneurial activities (research, feasibility studies, business planning, etc.) are permissible, those activities which directly result in income generation are not allowed without the proper authorization. Babson strongly advises all international students to seek professional independent legal advice from an exclusive practitioner of immigration law (in addition to any other legal counsel) to avoid accidentally engaging in unlawful activities. Contact the Glavin Office of Multicultural & International Education for immigration attorney information and for work authorization guidelines.
