Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship Thought Leadership
Babson-Lancet Case Studies
In 2014, Babson partnered with The Lancet Commission on Global Surgery to create a case series designed to help transform Global Surgery into a field of study and practice. The cases explore health system challenges ranging from human resource development to electronic medical record systems and are freely available online to both students and educators.
Ongoing Faculty Research
In partnership with the Babson Faculty Research Fund (BFRF), the Fund for Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship makes funds available to support faculty in research related to global health and healthcare entrepreneurship.
- Jonathan Sims is studying the role of a community practicing open innovation in the creation of an ecosystem of organizations working to improve healthcare in developing nations.
- Kate McKone-Sweet and Wiljeana Glover are developing a global health framework for implementation based on in-depth case studies and a literature review. The current working framework provides 4 key components of an environment that will enable successful global health initiatives. The components include: formation of a strong Implementation team, selection of the adoptive community, a clear delivery strategy and an entrepreneurial delivery approach.
