She holds a PhD from the University of Paderborn, Germany, an MBA from Babson College, and the equivalent of an MA from Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany. Dr. Fischer is the author or editor of three published books: a study of the representation of Native Americans in contemporary crime fiction, a bilingual edition of Shakespeare quotations in English and German, and an edition of a young adult novel annotated for EFL/ESL learners. She has published scholarly articles on diverse topics, from crime and detective fiction to the pedagogy of teaching to marketing. Most recently, she co-authored a business case on sustainable agriculture.
