Rob Major

Director

Rob Major is an associate dean and the director of the Office of Academic Services. He oversees the office’s operations, which includes personal and academic support for undergraduates and management of curriculum support for Babson’s innovative, integrated curriculum.

He earned a BS from the University of Rhode Island and a Master’s degree in higher education administration from Suffolk University.

Staci Weber

Associate Director

Staci Weber is the associate director of the Office of Academic Services. She oversees the office’s personal and academic support operations for students in their sophomore through senior years. She manages the transfer credit review and application process, and she advises all incoming transfer and exchange students.

She earned a BA from Franklin & Marshall College and a Master’s degree in education from the University of Delaware, and she is completing a PhD at Syracuse University in “how first-generation college students use college access and/or success programs to navigate their college-going journey.”

Samantha Stanley

Class Dean of 2015

Samantha Stanley is the class dean for the Class of 2015. She provides academic and personal support to the Class of 2015, including advisement on course selection and registration, academic planning, study abroad, variances, off-campus course work, and exam excuses.

She earned a BA from Saint Michael’s College and a Master’s degree in international education from the School of International Training Graduate Institute.​

Kristen Fischer

Kristen Fischer

Class Dean of 2016

Kristen Fischer is the class dean for the Class of 2016. She provides academic and personal support to the Class of 2016, including advisement on course selection and registration, academic planning, study abroad, variances, off-campus course work, and exam excuses.

She earned a BA from Hamilton College and a Master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from The Ohio State University.

Dan Kwash

Assistant Director, First-Year Dean

Dan Kwash is the first-year dean for the Class of 2017 and the assistant director of the Office of Academic Services. He is responsible for leadership and delivery of academic and personal support programs for first-year students, including supervision of professional staff within the program. He also provides primary personal and academic support to Babson first-year students.

He earned a BA from Bridgewater State University and a Master’s degree in education with a concentration in higher education, also from Bridgewater State University.​

Assistant Class Dean, First-Year Programs

Brian Duggan M’05 advises all incoming G.A.P. enrollment students and also coordinates the Weissman Scholars program.

He earned a BA from College of the Holy Cross, a Master’s degree in education from Boston College, and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College.

Program Manager, Academic Services

Conor O’Brien is the program manager of the First-Year Programs. He helps the first-year class dean develop and implement Orientation and the First-Year Seminar. He also oversees the Peer Mentor program, the First-Year/Senior Retreat, and all class-based programming through the Office of Academic Services.

He earned a BA from Quinnipiac University and a Master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from the University of South Carolina.

Jill Fontaine

Jill Fontaine

Assistant Director, Curriculum Support

Jill Fontaine is the assistant director for curriculum support in the Office of Academic Services. She is responsible for coordinating with faculty to provide support for FME (Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship) and the integrated sophomore curriculum (OEM, MCE, and SME) in the areas of Blackboard, simulations, course projects, exams, and enrollment management. She also manages the FME Mentor program, FME Auditors, and the FME Bank.

She earned a BS from Babson College and a Master’s degree in education from Providence College.

Kevin O’Leary

Program Coordinator

Kevin O’Leary is a program coordinator for curriculum support in the Office of Academic Services. He is part of the Curriculum Support team that works with faculty who provide support for FME (Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship) and the integrated sophomore curriculum (OEM, MCE, and SME) in areas including Blackboard, simulations, course projects, exams, and enrollment management. He also manages common exam proctors.

He earned a BA and a Master’s degree in education from Merrimack College.

Program Coordinator

Kate D’Angelo is a program coordinator for curriculum support in the Office of Academic Services. She works with the Curriculum Support team to provide faculty and program support for FME (Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship) and the integrated sophomore curriculum (OEM, MCE, and SME) in the areas of Blackboard, simulations, course projects, exams, and enrollment management.

She earned a BA with a certificate in professional writing and technical communication from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Master’s degree in higher education administration from North Carolina State University, and a graduate certificate in the program Leadership for Change: Sustainability, Responsibility, and Community at Boston College.

Jackie Harris

Coordinator, Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program

Jackie Harris is the coordinator for the Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program of the Office of Academic Services. She organizes all aspects of the program, including coordination of volunteer recruitment, management of volunteer training, event-day management, and many other tasks that lead to the program’s success.

Mary Beth Crane is the part-time administrative assistant in the Office of Academic Services. She handles overall office support functions and event planning as a part of her day-to-day duties.

Robyn Johnson

Robyn Johnson

Graduate Assistant

Robyn Johnson is a graduate assistant in the Office of Academic Services, where she serves as an adviser for the academic mentors and supports the class deans with degree audits, overflow advising, and general support.

She earned a BS from Cornell University and is pursuing a Master’s degree in college student development and counseling at Northeastern University. She will graduate in 2016.

 
Elvia Sornoza

Elvia Sornoza

Graduate Assistant

Elvia Sornoza is a graduate assistant in the Office of Academic Services, where she serves as an adviser for the academic mentors and performs overflow advising and general support. She also provides weekly programming and support for students in the FirstGen at Babson group.

Elvia earned a BA at the University of California, Riverside, and is pursuing a Master’s degree in College Student Development and Counseling at Northeastern University. She will graduate in 2015.

Honors Program​

Assistant Director, Honors and Presidential Scholars Programs

Monique Rose is the assistant director of the Honors and Presidential Scholars programs. She coordinates all aspects of the Honors Program, including working with faculty on administration and recruitment and providing academic and personal support to the students. She also manages the Presidential Scholars Program.

She earned a BS from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration from Babson College.
