Babson's Marketing Team was honored by the AMA as Higher Education Marketer of the Year
Babson College, the recognized world leader in entrepreneurship education, announced today that the College’s Marketing Team was honored by the American Marketing Association (AMA) as Higher Education Marketer of the Year.
Through its Marketer of the Year Awards, the AMA honors individuals and organizations that have helped advance or transform the field of higher education marketing through the development of innovative and unique methodologies, breakthroughs and advances in organizing and planning, results that demonstrate global impact, and more.
“In a highly competitive and quickly evolving industry, there is a greater need than ever before to differentiate with unique and meaningful positioning and to execute on this positioning in a unified and bold way,” said Sarah L. Sykora, Babson’s former Chief Marketing Officer, who accepted the award on behalf of the College. “By shattering traditional marketing siloes and integrating our positioning into every aspect of the consumer journey, we have successfully repositioned Babson as the educator, convener, and thought leader for Entrepreneurship of All Kinds®, the most positive force for generating sustainable economic and social value around the world. We are honored to receive this American Marketing Association award, which speaks to the creativity, hard work and results driven by our marketing team.”
In partnership with Babson’s agency of record, Boston-based Connelly Partners, the College recently launched a fully integrated campaign comprised of online, out of home, radio and print media to redefine entrepreneurship in order to help shape how the world views and values entrepreneurs of all kinds. Through the campaign’s digital hub, define.babson.edu, Babson is crowd-sourcing definitions of the word entrepreneurship and sharing information about the entrepreneurial experience. The award winning campaign engaged more than 158,000 unique visitors from 179 countries since its launch in 2012; creating a movement around a broader meaning of entrepreneurship and, in doing so, gaining market adoption of Babson’s positioning.
Babson also elevated its thought leadership through the creation of EntrepreneurshipOfAllKinds.org, a website that shines a spotlight on people and organizations - across all spheres of society - that are acting entrepreneurially to create opportunities, deploy solutions and collaborate with others to make visions reality. Through feature stories, video, interviews, and related external content on topics ranging from family business to the sharing economy to how to nurture entrepreneurship at large, multinational corporations, the site engages people who share Babson’s passion for entrepreneurship and social innovation, yet might not be affiliated with Babson academically. The site, built entirely from scratch by Babson’s in-house marketing team and designed in responsive design, leverages the power of inbound marketing to grow the Babson brand in the external marketplace and reach new audiences around the world.
Babson was presented the AMA Higher Education Marketer of the Year Award (Team Honor) earlier today at the 2013 AMA Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education at the Marriott Copley Boston.
