LGBTQ at Babson
Creating a community that values, supports, and celebrates LGBTQ individuals and their allies.
Babson’s LGBTQ Action Group is comprised of faculty, staff, alumni, and undergraduate and graduate students who are committed to creating a community that values, supports, and celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning individuals and their allies. The group is currently co-chaired by Jamie Kendrioski, Director of International Student and Scholar Services, and Melissa Shaak, Director of Student Financial Services.
Christine Yoon M'15, the first-ever Graduate Assistant for LGBTQ Program, works closely with Babson’s LGBTQ Action Group to advance Babson’s standing as an LGBTQ-friendly campus. Please say hello during her office hours in the Glavin Office, Hollister 220: Tuesdays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; Wednesdays, 3-5 p.m.; or email her any time at LGBTQ@babson.edu.

Babson Community Marches in Boston's Pride Parade
Babson celebrated another first on June 8, when over 50 students, alumni, faculty, staff, family, and friends marched with President-elect Kerry Healey at the Boston Pride Parade.
Marchers wore brand-new Babson Pride t-shirts and handed out green beads, sunglasses, and Babson Beaver temporary tattoos as they walked from Copley Square to the Pride Festival at Government Center.
Thank you to everyone in our community who joined us.
Show Your Support as a Visible Ally
Babson’s LGBTQ Action Group has created an “Ally” sticker that you can display to show your support for the LGBTQ community. Visit the Glavin Office of Multicultural and International Education on the second floor of Hollister to pick up a sticker, or call x4565 and we’ll send one to you via campus mail.
The back of the sticker defines an ally as a person who supports and honors sexual and gender diversity, and who challenges homophobic, heterosexist, and sexist behaviors and beliefs held by others and one’s self. We also strongly encourage participation in Safe Zone, Babson’s LGBTQ ally training program.
