Babson Blended Learning: Test It Out in San Francisco

Babson Blended Learning: Test It Out is for prospective students interested in experiencing Babson’s MBA firsthand, through a gr​aduate-level, blended learning course.

Babson Blended Learning: Test It Out is open to students interested in a Babson graduate degree. On-campus classes for this session of Test It Out will take place at  Babson's San Francisco campus and all interested students must be willing to come to this location for these sessions.

This cohort of prospective students will be taught by Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Les Charm.

The course, Entrepreneurial Finance, will be taught in the blended learning format with both online learning and collaboration as well as on-campus classes. The course will start with a mandatory kickoff on Sunday, July 9, 2017 and run through Friday, August 25, 2017.

Successful completion of the Entrepreneurial Finance course will allow students who subsequently enter the Blended Learning MBA , the full-time One-Year or Two-Year MBA, or the Certificate in Advanced Management program to earn 3 advanced standing credits should you start by fall 2018.

Because Test It Out is designed to help prospective students explore Babson, Babson alumni and former Test It Out participants are not eligible to enroll.

If qualifications are met, a $500 nonrefundable registration fee is required. Books and transportation are not included in fee.

Course Description

Entrepreneurial Finance

This course focuses on raising seed and growth capital from multiple sources, including venture capital, business angels, commercial banking and crowdfunding, as well as financial issues unique to the small- and medium-sized firm undergoing rapid growth. The course also examines financial management for entrepreneurs over the life of a business project. Includes financing start-ups, financial planning for the nonpublic enterprise, liquidity events, and other important and related topics.
