Babson College Police Department

About Us

Upon completion of the Police Academy or other recognized equivalencies, Babson College Police Officers have full law enforcement powers on College property as special state police officers under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 22c section 63. Also, Babson College Police Officers are granted full enforcement power throughout the municipalities of Wellesley and Needham as special municipal police officers.

In addition, Babson College Police Officers are trained as EMTs and first responders. Annual in-service training is provided to all officers and they frequently are assigned to specialized training programs to enhance their professional development. The Department also oversees emergency medical response, medical escort services, fire safety and detection, crime prevention, escorts, parking enforcement, Operation ID, as well as other community policing functions. The department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
