Why I Chose Babson

Babson caught my attention during my college search because you are able to dive straight into business classes and start thinking with an entrepreneurial mindset. Babson has a close-knit and diverse community with experienced professors who really want to listen to students. I knew this environment would help me achieve my goals.

The Best Piece of Advice I Received at Babson

One of my mentors told me once, ‘Don’t wait until you get to the top to help those who are in need, help people in need while you try to climb to the top.’ This thought has resonated with me ever since and has helped me develop perspective on the concept of corporate philanthropy and social entrepreneurship. I am currently an elementary teacher for Teach for America Detroit, and this perspective will guide me now and as I work to achieve my goals.

How Do You Want to Change the World?

My life goal is to start an English-language school in southern China. I hope to help Chinese students gain greater knowledge of the English language and prepare them to one day take on further educational opportunities. I know the business knowledge I’ve gained at Babson will provide a solid foundation for the success of my school.
