David James MBA’18
Graduate Student, Two-Year MBA
What is your pre-Babson experience?
I earned my undergraduate degree from Bucknell University. I started my career with Teach for America as part of the founding group of corps members here in the Boston area. I taught eighth grade science in Chelsea and later helped restart a low-performing school in South Boston as a sixth grade science teacher. I then had the opportunity as a co-director with UP Education Network to lead the restart of a school in Lawrence as part of a district-wide reform effort.
Why did you choose Babson for your graduate education?
I was attracted to Babson for its incredible reputation for entrepreneurship education.
What are your career goals?
After Babson, I intend to return to the education/nonprofit sector and continue to focus on building and scaling organizations that improve the educational outcomes and opportunities for students. Babson’s entrepreneurship division’s instruction is second to none!
As a Babson student, what do you do when not in class?
The Butler Launch Pad has been a phenomenal resource for taking the ideas we learn in classes and implementing them with my business, K12 Landing.
What was your favorite part of the Babson student experience?
Everything leading up to and the day of the annual B.E.T.A. Challenge in the spring was a blast.
