Center for Information Management Studies (CIMS)
CIMS is somewhat unique as an academically based, non-vendor affiliated, forum for IT practitioners.
Founded in 1985, CIMS has an enduring record as a highly regarded professional development resource for the IT management community in New England.
The CIMS Workshop Program is the focus of our activities and is the principal vehicle for sharing thoughts on important developments in information technologies and management practices. Monthly morning workshops featuring leading IT experts encourage participants to interact in an informal setting in the Olin Hall graduate facility. Participants include executives from sponsor companies, researchers, professors, authors, and industry practitioners. Organizations pay an annual fee for seats at these seminar-style workshops.
CIMS also offers optional open enrollment Executive Courses in partnership with subject experts in various IT management specialties. Individuals from CIMS sponsor organizations attend these programs, typically two days in duration, at a discounted fee. Classes are held at the Babson Executive Conference Center.
We believe that networking is vital to the success of all IT professionals. In addition to our formal activities, CIMS is the nucleus of an extensive network of people interested in IT in the New England area. We provide career consultation and linkages within the IT industry, advise and assist Babson students in IT career decisions, and facilitate sponsors’ involvement with various facets of Babson College.
