New Student Health Requirements
Please review the following requirements for new students and be sure to leave enough lead time to get it all done before you arrive on campus.
AlcoholEdu & Haven Courses
All incoming students, including transfer students, are required to complete two online courses, AlcoholEdu and Haven, before arriving on campus. AlcoholEdu is designed to help you make well-informed decisions about alcohol and to assist you in dealing with the drinking behavior of your peers, whether or not you personally choose to drink. Haven is designed to address the critical issues of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, issues that affect college students in the United States and throughout the world. Consider these courses your first college assignment! Click here for information on accessing the courses and important deadlines.
The State of Massachusetts mandates that all college students (graduate and undergraduate) be immunized against certain preventable diseases. The college must ensure that all students are in compliance with this State mandated immunization law; therefore a student's enrollment process cannot be considered complete until the immunization requirements are fulfilled. Click here to learn about health requirements and to access required forms.
Massachusetts state law requires all students who are enrolled in 9 or more credits each semester to show proof that they have health insurance coverage from a U.S. based company while they are attending college or university in Massachusetts. Babson offers a Student Health Insurance Plan that exceeds the state requirements and provides excellent health insurance coverage against illness and accidents. Students will be automatically billed for the Babson Health Insurance plan unless they apply for a waiver based on a qualifying health plan that meets Massachusetts State requirements. Tips for success at Babson College
In addition to notebooks, storage cubes, and laundry bags, students should come to campus with a well-stocked, personal medicine cabinet. Include over-the-counter medications for cold and flu, upset stomach, pain relief, and basic first aid. Students should also have a plan in place for getting any prescription medications during the semester. Some may choose to purchase a lockbox to secure their medications; these can be purchased at any pharmacy.
Sleep, stress management, nutrition, and alcohol use can have a big impact on a student's academic and personal success at Babson. Explore strategies and resources to support wellbeing and success.
