New Student Health Requirements

Please review the following requirements for new students and be sure to leave enough lead time to get it all done before you arrive on campus.

Watch Your BAC

Complete the Watch Your BAC Course

All incoming students, including first year, January admits, transfer and exchange students, are required to complete Watch Your BAC: Part 1 before arriving on campus. Watch Your BAC provides incoming students with a shared foundation of knowledge about alcohol, its effects, how to help in an emergency, and campus policies and resources relating to alcohol and other drugs.

Insurance Requirements

Submit Immunization Documents

The State of Massachusetts mandates that all college students (graduate and undergraduate) be immunized against certain preventable diseases. The college must ensure that all students are in compliance with this State mandated immunization law; therefore a student’s enrollment process cannot be considered complete until the immunization requirements are fulfilled.

Complete Insurance Requirements

Complete Insurance Requirements

Massachusetts state law requires all students who are enrolled in nine or more credits/semester to show proof that they have health insurance coverage from a U.S. based company while they are attending college. Babson offers a Student Health Insurance Plan that exceeds the state requirements and provides excellent health insurance coverage against illness and accidents.

Getting Care

Most services require scheduling an appointment in advance. You may call during business hours to schedule an appointment or ask a question. Please be advised that students must schedule their own appointments; parents and guardians may not schedule appointments for their student.

Hours and contact info vary by department, so visit each respective home page for specifics.

Tips for Success at Babson College

In addition to notebooks, storage cubes, and laundry bags, students should come to campus with a well-stocked, personal medicine cabinet. Include over-the-counter medications for cold and flu, upset stomach, pain relief, and basic first aid. Students should also have a plan in place for getting any prescription medications during the semester. Some may choose to purchase a lockbox to secure their medications; these can be purchased at any pharmacy.

Sleep, stress management, nutrition, and alcohol use can have a big impact on a student’s academic and personal success at Babson. Explore strategies and resources to support wellbeing and success.
