Cheryl Yaffe Kiser
Managing Director of The Lewis Institute at Babson College and the Executive Director of The Babson Social Innovation Lab.
Before coming to Babson, Cheryl was the Managing Director of the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship. Most of her career she has been a voice on the role of business in society. For more than 12 years she played a central role in creating the largest research center of its kind in the U.S. and spearheaded a national initiative to engage leading businesses to take a collaborative approach to working on education issues called The UnCommon Table. For over a decade she managed the content and delivery of the largest annual conference in corporate citizenship, the International Corporate Citizenship Conference which drew representatives from over one third of the Fortune 500 every year and from 24 countries around the globe.
Prior to Boston College, Ms. Kiser was the Director of Marketing for Work Family Directions, the leading provider of work life programs and services.
Cheryl headed up communications and community relations/public affairs for the Metropolitan District Commission, which was the largest state agency in Massachusetts.
Cheryl, who earned a graduate degree in community organization and social policy and planning from Boston College, has always focused her attention on the intersection of public policy, private enterprise and community. She is skilled at building new markets for social change organizations and developing communications and positioning strategies. She is a leader in corporate social responsibility and social innovation. She has won awards for her public affairs and communications campaigns.
Cheryl brings her passion and leadership to many voluntary activities. In the area of health care she sits on the board of directors for The New England Conference for Health promotion Disease Prevention, and the Erna Yaffe Foundation for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. She is also on the advisory board for the Positive Deviance Initiative (PDI) at Tufts University and StartingBloc an organization that educates, inspires and connects emerging leaders to drive social innovation across sectors.
Cheryl is married to David Kiser and the mother of two children, Ross and Kenna.
