The Lavender Graduation Ceremony was created in 1995 at the University of Michigan by Dr. Ronni Sanlo, a Jewish Lesbian woman, who was denied the opportunity to attend the graduations of her biological children because of her sexual orientation. This first Lavender Graduation Ceremony had 3 attendees. Today, there more than 200 Lavender Graduation Ceremonies held yearly through various colleges around the United States.

At Babson College, our annual Lavender Graduation is a celebration to recognize graduating LGBTQ+ and ally Ugrad and Graduate students of all races, ethnicities and gender identities. Lavender Graduation is an opportunity for our community to acknowledge these graduate's achievements and contributions to the college and beyond as they make their way into their next journey.

Note: This is a program for ALL students who want to participate: LGBTQ+ and Allies
