Rocket Pitch San Francisco brings together Babson entrepreneurs to pitch to seasoned Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and investors, and the Babson Bay Area community of alumni, faculty, and students. 

The event will kick-off with a panel of investors who will discuss how they're currently evaluating companies, what they're looking for in today's founders, and what they anticipate to happen in the coming years. Following the panel, hear from Babson entrepreneurs who will have 3 minutes and 3 slides to pitch to the judges.

Ryan McDonald '11,  Norwest Venture Partners

 RyanRPJudge.pngRyan is a healthcare growth equity investor at Norwest Venture Partners, actively involved with investments in Blue Cloud, Onsite Dental, Rivermend Health, Crossover Health (acquired by Gurnet Point Capital), and iCardiac (acquired by ERT). Before joining Norwest, Ryan was an investment banking analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to being an analyst, Ryan also co-founded and ran a dietary supplement company. Ryan graduated from Babson College with a concentration in economics. 

Sandeep Sardana P'18,  BluePointe Ventures

 Sandeep2.jpgSandeep is a founding partner of BluePointe Ventures, an emerging Venture Capital firm based in San Mateo CA that invests across early stage startups and micro VC funds. Sandeep currently represents BluePointe on the board of datalaab, frontdesk.ai, the LPAC of Healthy Ventures, the advisory board of Bootup Accelerator, and the advisory board of FalconX Accelerator.  Prior to BluePointe Ventures, Sandeep co-founded and shaped BluePointe Angel Forum, was a key member of the frog design team to setup frog's first design studio in South Asia,  and managed the flagship mobility business at iPass. Sandeep has worked in various product positions at Harvard University, MIT, and JP Morgan. Sandeep holds an MBA from Columbia Business School NY and has BA in Computer Science from Rutgers College, NJ.  Sandeep is a proud early investor in a Babson founded company Wanderu and father of a rising senior at Babson.

Paul Weinstein '86, Azure Capital Partners

 PaulRPJudge.pngPaul Weinstein is a founding General Partner of Azure with over 28 years of investment experience across numerous sectors of technology. Paul's primary investment focus is on communications technology, data center, cloud infrastructure and applications and mobility solutions.  Before Azure, Paul was a Managing Director for Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), Deutsche Bank Securities, and Paine Webber. Paul received his B.S. degree in Finance from Babson College and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Elizabeth Yin, Hustle Fund

 ElizabethRPJudge.pngElizabeth Yin is the co-founder and general partner at Hustle Fund- a Venture capital firm that makes seed investments into the fastest-growing startup. Before the Hustle Fund, Elizabeth co-founded The Hustle, a conference series for non-technical entrepreneurs to launch and scale their startups. In addition, alongside an array of notable projects, Elizabeth was a partner for 500 Startups (invests in seed stage startups) and the co-founder/CEO of LaunchBit (an adtech platform that enables marketers to get their ads in front of professional audiences in email newsletters and on niche blogs on a cost-per-click basis). Elizabeth has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford and an MBA from MIT.

Brendan Barbato '17, Shelfie Challenge

Shelfie Challenge is a game-based platform where fans at live sporting events perform different challenges throughout the game to win prizes. Some examples of challenges could include taking a photo with fan gear, predicting if a player gets a hit in a baseball game, or donating $20 to a local nonprofit. Prizes are things you typically cannot buy, such as field access to a game or meeting a player during warm-ups.

Anup Gosavi MBA '13, Spext

Spext is an easy to use platform that converts voice audio into podcasts, videos, text files, etc. Spext aims to build tools to enable an easier and more inexpensive way to interact with voice audio. Spext is now working with transcriptionists and audio engineers in order to create more searchable & shareable features.

Ashwin Mysore MBA '14, Brown Bag

Brown Bag is an easy way for employees at large offices to meet and network over lunch, instead of having a boring lunch at their desk. Brown Bag is used via a convenient mobile app, which creates small lunch groups of 3-5 people. This effectively helps break down the silos formed within the organization and creates a strong community of employees.

Rachel Pardue '19, LOU

LOU is a browser plugin that operates as an interactive tutorial, training employees in using complex web platforms. As an employee becomes more comfortable with using the platform through LOU, LOU will begin to transition from a teacher to a full web assistant that will automate the majority of the user's task flows.

Absinthia Vermut MBA'18, Absinthia's Bottled Spirits, LLC

Absinthia's Bottled Spirits, LLC was founded in 2013 to produce organic, small batch absinthe. The absinthe is made with carefully selected ingredients, a modern approach using certified organic herbs and certified organic and biodynamic grape alcohol, and presented in beautiful, screen printed bottles. The company offers a traditional flavor profile with a California brand, and therefore, a unique beverage for the craft cocktail enthusiast.
