Babson College to Offer Inaugural Miami Class Scholarships to Incoming Graduate Students

Accepted students referred by Babson alumni will receive up to $20,000 in scholarships

Babson MiamiBabson College is now offering Babson Miami Inaugural Class Scholarships to students who have been referred by its alumni. Students must be accepted and enroll in one of Babson’s graduate programs scheduled to start in Miami in Fall 2018.

Babson Miami graduate offerings will include:

  • A Blended Learning MBA degree—this well-known Babson program combines online classes, face-to-face sessions, and virtual collaboration, and is ranked top 10 worldwide by Financial Times and No. 1 for average alumni earnings.
  • A Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) degree, which provides students with the tools and analytic methods to effectively communicate the value of data. It is delivered in a flexible blend of online and face-to-face sessions.

Those who have been referred and are pursuing Babson’s Blended Learning MBA in Miami will receive a $20,000 scholarship. Those starting the MSBA will receive a $10,000 scholarship. Babson alumni who apply and are accepted will automatically receive these scholarships as well.

Babson’s new hub in Miami is located at CIC Miami (Cambridge Innovation Center)—a co-working space in the University of Miami Life Science and Technology Park. A natural fit for Babson, it brings together a community of entrepreneurs focused on making a positive impact and is a part of the city’s booming innovation corridor. Students will have full, 24/7 access to classroom, conference, and café space, and will benefit from CIC’s weekly Venture Café Miami gatherings, monthly community breakfasts, client presentations, and mentors.

Babson College is the academic architect of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, hosted at Miami-Dade College since 2014, empowering participating local small business owners to help their businesses grow.

Babson’s WIN Lab has had local roots since 2016, with the support of The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, FedEx, and Akerman LLP. The program’s first cohort of women entrepreneurs raised nearly $2 million in funding and celebrated its finale in April 2017.

Miami also is a hub for a vibrant network of more than 1,300 Babson alumni. The region boasts the fourth-largest concentration of Babson graduates, many of whom are involved in family enterprises and entrepreneurial ventures in the Miami area. Some of Babson’s most notable Miami-area alumni include: Murilo Amaral MBA’16 and Alfredo Keri MBA’16, founders of Cargo42Alberto Perlman ’98, co-founder and CEO of Zumba Fitness, LLC; the Zamora family, who run the financial institution LAFISE; and Diego Lowenstein ’90 P'21, CEO and the third generation to work at Lionstone Development, founded and headquartered in Miami.

Babson College’s expansion into Miami has extended its reach and impact around the world, adding to its existing hubs in Wellesley and Boston, Massachusetts, and San Francisco, California.
